Wrinkle Injections

Wrinkle Injections

Overview: For a fresher face and visibly younger skin, wrinkle injections are one of the most effective treatments to reduce the signs of aging by targeting problem areas such as the eyes, forehead and neck. By relaxing certain muscle groups that cause the development of lines from repeat use over the years, wrinkle injections help the skin appear smoother, tighter and firmer while simultaneously slowing the development of further wrinkles.

How it works: Wrinkle injections contain tiny amounts of a natural, purified protein which blocks the chemicals in the body that stimulate nerve endings. Having identified the problem areas with you, our specialized dermatologist at Eternel Clinic will inject small amounts using a fine needle to relax muscles in the targeted areas of the face.

Results & Recovery: You can expect to see a smoothing of fine lines within a few hours of the treatment, with effects for deeper wrinkles becoming noticeable within 24 to 48 hours later. Results will last up to 4 months. Wrinkle injections require minimal downtime for recovery, and you can return to your normal routine straight after treatment.

FAQ:

When will I see results?

Most clients notice significant results 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, with the full effect of wrinkle injections in place by two weeks.

Are my lines going to be worse when it wears off?

Your face will never appear worse once the effect of wrinkle injections has worn off. If you stop getting treatments, the muscles will return to work as normal and your face will return to its original appearance. However, if you use wrinkle injections for a number of years, your facial muscles may learn to relax resulting in a long-term smoother appearance.

I don’t want to look like a mask without expression – will that happen?

At Eternel Clinic we ensure that we achieve the results that you desire with no obvious sign that treatment has been done.

Special considerations

It is important to tell your doctor the following before the treatment:

  • All medications you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
  • If you have been treated with a wrinkle-removing injections in the last 4 months, and whether you experienced any allergies or side effects.
  • Your medical conditions, including any muscle or nerve conditions such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.
  • If you have had any swallowing or breathing problems in the past.
  • If you have had surgery on your face or plan to do so.
  • If you have weakness in your forehead muscles, have trouble raising your eyebrows, or have drooping eyelids.
  • If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or if you are nursing or plan to nurse.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP

Overview:

For a smoother, tighter and rejuvenated appearance, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) – also known as the ‘Vampire Face Lift’ – is an organic treatment that uses platelets drawn from your blood. An eminent favourite among celebrities, this long lasting treatment uses platelets to boost collagen and stimulate new tissue growth to target areas of the face you wish to appear naturally younger and fresher.

How it works:

Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and regenerate. PRP is yielded from your own body through a simple blood draw which is placed in a centrifuge machine to concentrate the plasma cells used for the treatment. The concentrated PRP is then injected into areas of your skin to promote collagen growth and tissue regeneration over a period of time.

Results & Recovery:

Improvements to your skin will be noticeable within the first month, with full collagen regeneration taking up to 3 months. These improvements will continue over the next 12 months as new tissue continues to grow. The effects last between 18 months to 2 years depending on your age and the area treated. For the best results we recommend up to three treatments 4-8 weeks apart, with booster treatments at around 12 months.
PRP treatment requires little recovery time, however there may be redness and tenderness on the first day, followed by slight bruising and swelling on the second day. You may also notice a sandpaper texture to the skin on the second day which can persist for up to a week.

FAQ:

Is there any difference between PRP and filler injections?

There is a big difference between PRP therapy and filler skin injections. While fillers look to mask problem areas by making wrinkles less visible, PRP fuels collagen growth and facial rejuvenation to naturally improve the overall texture, elasticity and tightness of your skin. PRP also has a much longer lasting effect than fillers and other shorter term treatments.

Can I have treatments of fillers and PRP at the same time?

Fillers can be applied together with PRP since the two forms of skin treatment serve different purposes. Fillers will work immediately to smooth out particular wrinkles, while PRP will work to improve your skin tone over a period of time.

Can I go to work after the procedure?

Yes, you can return to your normal routine immediately after the procedure.

Special considerations:

It is important to tell your doctor the following before the treatment:

  • If you are taking medication, including blood thinning (anti-coagulant) medication, undergoing steroidal, or any long-term therapies.
  • Conditions such as blood and platelet disorders, chronic liver disease, presence of an active infection, cardiovascular or hemodynamic instability and/or the presence of anti-coagulation therapy.
Thermage

Thermage

Overview:

For an A-list glow that doesn’t require invasive surgery, Thermage is a unique, one of a kind radiofrequency treatment that stimulates the body’s natural growth of collagen. As a safe and highly effective treatment to target areas of loose or sagging skin, Thermage requires only one treatment to achieve significantly smoother, brighter, younger looking skin with results that last for years.

How it works:

Thermage begins by cooling the skin with cryogen to aid comfort and help protect the surface layers. Using a special treatment tip, radiofrequency energy is targeted to penetrate deep into skin tissue to heat, tighten and remodel the collagen. As a final step the skin is re-cooled to aid the regeneration process.

Results & Recovery:

Results should be noticeable immediately after treatment, with a visible improvement in firmness and contouring continuing over 6 months as the body regenerates collagen. One treatment is all that is required to achieve significant long term results that can leave you looking visibly younger for years
Your skin will look normal after treatment, though you may notice some mild redness for a short time. No recovery time is required and you can return to your regular routine immediately.

FAQ:

How does my skin change?

Tightening and lifting results are usually felt within one day, and you will notice visibly firmer, younger looking skin approximately 4 to 6 months after treatment as the skin regenerates collagen. You will also notice stronger definition in any areas targeted specifically for contouring.

Where can I have Thermage done?

Thermage can be used successfully to target, tighten and sculpt most areas of the body, including full face, neck, jawline, arms, legs, abdomen, buttocks, hips and hands.

Is Thermage compatible with fillers?

Yes, to a certain degree with temporary fillers, however, waiting times are recommended following filler treatment. Permanent fillers are not recommended. You should discuss any filler treatments you have had with your doctor to ensure safety and compatibility.

How safe is Thermage?

Thermage is considered a safer alternative to invasive surgical treatments such as a face-lift. Radiofrequency energy is a common treatment used in operating rooms, and the Thermage device has been cleared for use by the FDA for cosmetic indications.

Does it hurt?

Thermage can cause some discomfort. Your experienced doctor at Eternel Clinic will conduct a test pulse before treatment to ensure the sensation is tolerable. The treatment will also be accompanied by cryogen cooling to help numb and protect the skin.

Fractional Radio Frequency

Fractional Radio Frequency

Overview:

Fractional Radio Frequency isan advanced rejuvenation treatment that leaves the skin with a brighter complexion and an overall smoother texture. Using a specialized combination of insulated needle penetrations and high tensioned radio frequency pulses, this highly effective technique acts to induce the skin’s natural growth and recovery mechanisms, resulting in tighter skin, refined pores, reduced wrinkles, and an overall refreshed appearance. The treatment is also effective in reducing the appearance of acne scars.

How it works:

Using insulated microneedles, the skin is penetrated multiple times in the target area to reach the dermis layer of skin. The microneedles are then used to deliver high-tensioned radiofrequency pulses into the targeted tissue to stimulate the skin and boost the long-term production of elastin and collagen fibers for firmer, healthier looking skin. As Fractional Radio Frequency leaves the epidermis intact, there is less risk of pigmentation and scarring in comparison to more invasive methods.

Results & Recovery:

Visibly firmer skin will be noticeable immediately after the treatment, however for optimum results a series of 3-6 sessions each 4 weeks apart is recommended. Each session will work to firm the skin, boost its elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While you may experience some redness for an hour following the treatment, zero downtime is required and you may resume normal activity immediately should you wish.

FAQ:

When will I see results?

You can expect to notice results immediately following the treatment, with optimum results following a course of 3 – 6 sessions.

Is it painful?

The treatment may cause some discomfort, but a topical anesthetic cream will be applied beforehand to ensure that the session is as comfortable as possible.

Can I do this treatment if I’ve had wrinkle injections or fillers?

It is completely safe to have Fractional Radio Frequency Microneedling if you’ve had wrinkle injections or fillers done previously. However, a minimum gap of two weeks is recommended between any treatments. Please note that the use of radio frequency may reduce the longevity of your fillers or wrinkle injections.

Excessive sweating

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) Treatment

Overview:

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition caused by the over activity of eccrine sweat glands, resulting in excessive sweating. The condition can be distressing and uncomfortable since many people who suffer from hyperhidrosis sweat excessively regardless of external stimuli such as temperature or emotional state. Hyperhidrosis can be easily treated using wrinkle-removing injections to block the nerve endings of the sweat glands to reduce the over-activity.

How it works:

The substance used is a natural, purified protein which works by blocking the chemicals in the body that stimulate nerve endings. Hyperhidrosis can be significantly reduced by blocking the nerve endings of the over-active eccrine sweat glands. During the treatment a very fine needle is used to inject the substance under the skin near the glands that are causing the excessive sweating. Multiple injections may be given to help achieve the best results.

Results & Recovery:

You should start to notice a reduction in sweating within 8-14 days of the treatment. Results can be expected to last for 5-10 months, with repeat injections required when the hyperhidrosis shows signs of reappearing.

During the treatment there can be a mild stinging discomfort caused by the injections. Once the treatment is complete there should be no discomfort and you can continue with your daily routine. You may experience some mild, temporary weakness of muscles near the injection site. In rarer instances you may also experience skin rashes, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue which will subside within days.

FAQ:

How safe is it?

It’s a very safe procedure, and wrinkle-removing injections have been used medically for the last 40 years.

How effective is it?

In the majority of cases the procedure reduces perspiration by 50%, and in some cases it can reach up to 85%.

How long does it last?

Results last up to 6 months after which the procedure can be repeated again.

Skin Tag Removal

Skin Tag Removal

Overview:

Skin tags are small, soft pieces of hanging skin that are a common aesthetic complaint when growing in visible areas such as the eyelids, neck and upper chest. Since the vast majority are completely benign, skin tags can be easily and quickly removed as an elective procedure.

How it works:

Our doctors at Eternel Clinic treat skin tags using a cauterization method – a safe medical process of burning the skin to remove undesired growth. Small tags generally do not require an anesthetic, though a topical anesthesia cream can be applied to help with any discomfort or concern. Larger skin tags may require an injection of lidocaine to prevent discomfort during the procedure.

Results & Recovery:

Result are immediate and you may return to your normal routine without any downtime.

FAQ:

What causes skin tags?

Skin tags are believed to be caused by collagen and blood vessels clustering together within thicker area of skin. Skin tags can be found anywhere on the body, but are most common in areas such as folds and creases where skin friction occurs. They can appear on people of any age, but are most frequently found on people above the age of 40.

If I do nothing about my skin tags, will they keep growing bigger?

Most skin tags are very small and maintain the same size. Many people choose to have them removed due to irritation and aesthetic concern when they grow in visible areas.

Is it dangerous to remove a skin tag at home without professional help?

Yes, it can be dangerous. Complications can include infection, excessive bleeding, and damage to nearby tissue when performed at home. Skin tags should always be removed by a trained professional in a medical setting.

Mole Removal

Mole Removal

Overview:

Moles are small dark growths that appear on the skin. They vary in size but are commonly small and flat, with some having a larger raised appearance. While usually benign and harmless, moles can cause aesthetic concern when growing in visible areas such as the face, neck and arms. Using a safe medical procedure, moles can be easily and removed with very little pain or scarring.

How it works:

During a consultation with one of our doctors, your mole will be examined to judge the best method of removal. It is important that you inform the doctor of any recent changes in colour, size or surface texture of the mole.

Moles are usually removed using the shave excision method, where a derma blade is used to remove the mole from the surface of the skin with a local anesthetic. Once the mole is removed there will be a small shallow wound which may require heat cauterizatision to stop any excessive bleeding. In some circumstances a mole will need to be removed surgically and sent to a lab for further analysis.

Results & Recovery:

Following the procedure there will be slight scabbing where the mole once was. This can be expected to heal over 1-2 weeks leaving a light scar which will fade over time. There is minimal recovery time and you can return to your normal routine immediately.

FAQ:

Is the treatment painful?

A local anesthetic will be administered at the start of the procedure which can cause stinging and discomfort. This will numb the area and there should be no discomfort or pain when the mole is being removed. There may be slight, temporary pain when the effects of the anesthetic wear off following the treatment.

What are the risks of mole removal?

The risks related to mole removal include infection, excessive bleeding and scarring. Fortunately these risks are low, and removal is considered a safe and simple procedure.

Will I have a scar after the treatment?

At Eternel Clinic we use the latest, most effective techniques to ensure minimal scarring. As with any removal procedure a slight scar may be apparent though this will be less noticeable than the original mole.

Injectable Fillers

Fillers

Overview:

Dermal fillers help to restore youthful volume and diminish facial lines by hydrating soft tissue areas such as the cheeks, nose and jawline. By erasing wrinkles and contouring the skin, fillers bring definition to these areas, while also plumping up lips, elevating eyebrows, and smoothing out the forehead for an overall younger, more energized appearance.

How it works:

As we age, our faces naturally lose a layer of tissue immediately beneath the skin called subcutaneous fat. This diminishes the natural volume of the face, while also making wrinkles and lines more apparent due to facial muscles sitting closer to the skin. Dermal fillers contain a natural complex sugar found in all living cells called hyaluronic acid (HA) which helps to retain water. The treatment is administered to the face via injection and works by targeting the protective layer of tissue above the subcutaneous fat – known as the dermis – to help attract water, hydrate the skin and increase the volume and density of the face.

Results & Recovery:

Results are noticeable immediately with visibly fuller lips, cheeks, smoother skin and a more defined jawline depending on the area of treatment. The treatment generally takes no more than an hour and you can return to your normal routine the same day. We do, however, not recommend strenuous exercise, sun exposure or saunas for a period of time after the filler injections.

FAQ:

Will I notice the difference right away?

Yes, the aesthetic results are immediate. You’ll see the results as soon as your appointment is over.

Will I need to take time off work?

No, you can return to your normal routine within reason immediately after treatment.

How long will the effects of filler treatment last?

Since each face is different, the outcome of dermal fillers can vary. Based on our experience at Eternel Clinic, you can expect fillers to last between 4 to 12 months. This, however, is dependent on your age, the desired results, and the depth of the folds and wrinkles on your face. Note that results may differ form person to person.

Special considerations

It is important to tell your doctor the following before the treatment:

  • If you have a history of severe allergy or bleeding disorders, recent use of aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or herbal supplements known to affect coagulation and hemostasis.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Fine Thread Contouring

Fine Contour Threading

Overview:

Fine Thread Contour (FTC) Therapy is an alternative to the classic face-lift and can be used to effectively combat age related skin sagging in areas such as the brow, cheeks, face and neck. Using a delicate threading technique to elevate and tighten the skin, the treatment is a long-lasting, non-surgical way of achieving tighter and younger looking skin.

How it works:

As we age, our facial skin may start to sag and wrinkle due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers. Using a long needle, FTC threads are inserted into precise locations underneath the skin where hair-like barbs of the threads grasp onto soft tissues. Once in position, the thread opens like an umbrella to form a support structure that gently lifts and tightens loose areas of the face. The end of each thread is cut and knotted, retracting deep under the skin leaving no visible sign of treatment.

Results & Recovery:

You will see immediate results with a visible lift in the targeted areas following the treatment. The tightness of your face will continue to improve over a period of 2-6 months as new collagen grows between the threads. The threads will gradually dissolve over about 6 months, but the resulting lift from the collagen will remain.
Following treatment you may notice bruising and slight swelling for a few days. Recovery is quick and you can return to your regular routine the following day. Facial movement may be limited for the first two weeks, and it can be uncomfortable to laugh or smile.

*Please note that result may vary , from person to person.

FAQ:

What are the threads made of?

The threads used at Eternel Clinic are 100% Polydioxanone, which is a clinically proven biocompatible and bio-absorbable material widely used in medical suturing.

How long do the results last for?

The lasting effects of FTC varies depending on your age, quality of skin, degree of sagging, and the number of threads used. From our experience at Eternel Clinic, results can last between 2-3 years based on lifestyle.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes, the procedure is safe. Because FTC is a non-surgical treatment with only a local anesthetic used, it is considerably less complicated than a full surgical facelift.

Is the procedure painful?

The treatment can be considered painful, however our specialized doctors will minimize discomfort as much as possible by using special creams that reduce the pain.

Ultherapy

Ultherapy

Overview:

Ultherapy is a non-invasive ultrasound treatment that stimulates the body’s natural regeneration of collagen. As a safe alternative to surgery, the treatment is effective for lifting and tightening skin on the brow, neck, chin and décolletage. Ultherapy can also be used to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a younger, fresher appearance.

How it works:

Ultherapy uses ultrasound temperature to energise the body’s natural regenerative process and stimulate new collagen growth, resulting in firmer skin over time. Unlike other surgical and non-surgical treatments such as laser and radio frequency therapies, Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver temperature at a concentrated depth to stimulate growth.

Results & recovery:

Results should be noticeable immediately after treatment, with a visible improvement in firmness over 2 to 3 months as the newly generated collagen works to lift and tighten skin.
There is no down time required following treatment and you can return to your normal routine immediately. You may notice redness and experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness, but this should subside soon after treatment.

FAQ:

How old or young do I need to be before I can have this treatment?
Individuals in their late 30s through to their 60s will typically benefit most from this treatment.

How long do the effects of the treatment last?

Results last depending on your age and the condition of your skin. From our experience at Eternel Clinic, results typically last between 1-2 years, with repeat treatments only needed every 1-3 years.

How is Ultherapy different from lasers?

Ultherapy targets deep skin tissues to stimulate collagen growth and improve the structure and firmness of these foundational layers. Laser treatments, on the other hand, target surface layers of skin such as fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation on the face and body. Because of this, the two treatments can be complimentary in improving the overall appearance of the skin.

Does it hurt?

Some slight discomfort may be experienced during the actual treatment, but there will be minimal pain once complete.

Carboxy Therapy - Eyes & Face

Carboxy Therapy Eyes & Face

Overview:

Poor circulation of blood is partially responsible for the development of eye circles, wrinkles, scarring, cellulite and other skin degenerations over the years. Carboxy Therapy is a new, highly sought-after treatment that uses an innovative approach of administering carbon dioxide gas [CO2] to problem areas to help enhance the flow of oxygenated blood, resulting in rejuvenated skin and a youthful glow.

How it works:

Carboxy Therapy works by injecting tiny amounts of carbon dioxide gas into target areas. The increased presence of carbon dioxide signals to the brain that the area requires more oxygen to keep the cells alive. As a natural response, the body sends oxygenated red blood cells to the area before carrying the carbon dioxide away for expulsion through the lungs. This increase in the circulation of oxygenated blood works to boost the regenerative capability of skin cells and production of collagen to give a healthy, radiant appearance to the area.
Carboxy Therapy is also effective in targeting dark circles under the eyes. Caused largely by a poor blood flow through the delicate capillary network of the lower eyelid, the treatment works to stimulate the circulation of oxygenated blood to the area. The increased oxygen helps to boost the growth of new healthy cells, giving a fresh energized look to the eyes and overall appearance of the face.

Results & Recovery:

Results should be visibly noticeable after the first treatment. A course of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended to achieve longer term improvement. You may return to your regular routine immediately after the treatment.

FAQ

Is CO2 toxic?

No, carbon dioxide is a natural gas produced by the cells in our body every day. It is a product of normal metabolism and is in no way alien to the body.
What other benefits occur from Carboxy Therapy?
The increase of oxygenated blood-flow to the area treated helps to stimulate the collagen formation in the skin to give a brighter, more youthful appearance.

How many sessions are necessary?

During your consultation, one of our specialized doctors at Eternel Clinic will assess and discuss the number of treatments necessary based on your age, target area and desired results. We generally recommend between 4 to 6 sessions.
If Carboxy Therapy is also used to melt fat, won’t it make my eyelids hollow?
No. The technique used to treat dark circles beneath the eyelids is different to the technique used to treat fat. Carboxy Therapy for the eyes works by injecting carbon dioxide just underneath the skin, whereas it is used to aid weight loss by injecting carbon dioxide deep within fat cells. The method is therefore completely different and there is no danger of the eyes appearing hollow.

Does it hurt?

Carboxy Therapy is administered via injection and may cause slight discomfort during the treatment. There will be no pain following the treatment, though you may experience a warm and tingly feeling for up to 24 hours as the circulation to the area improves.

Acne Treatment

Acne Treatment

Overview:

Acne is a relatively common but often distressing skin condition caused by the buildup of sebum oil in the hair follicles on the skin. Using a series of specialist treatment peels and facials, Eternel Clinic can reduce and in some cases completely remove acne to achieve cleaner, clearer, healthier looking skin to help with that all-important confidence boost.

Sebum oil is a naturally occurring skin oil, but the presence of too much creates an ideal environment for a bacterium called ‘propionibacterium acnes’ to grow. Spreading in an inflamed rash formation, acne can be the cause of great aesthetic concern, particularly in young people and long-term sufferers. If left untreated, acne can cause long-term damage in severe cases when cysts develop and rupture beneath the skin, causing acne scarring. A simple consultation will identify the type of acne you have along with the best course of treatment tailored to you.

How it works:

The two treatments available at Eternel Clinic are the Medical Acne Peel and the Deep Cleaning Facial, which work to clean the skin and regulate oil secretions.

Medical Acne Peel – Peels are effective in exfoliating and cleaning the top layer of skin to clear clogged pores and improve skin cell regeneration. Peels can vary in strength and will be suited depending on the severity of your acne.

Deep Cleaning Facial – The specially developed Deep Cleaning Facial is effective to clean the skin, clear clogged pores and regulate the secretions of sebum oil. By balancing the natural pH of the skin, the facial will also help to sooth and soften the aggravated areas.

Results & Recovery:

A treatment plan will be developed with you by your doctor at Eternel Clinic. This will be based on your age, severity of the acne, and the area of your body affected. On average, 6 treatments administered every 7-14 days will help achieve significant results. These treatments have minimal side effects and you can proceed with your daily routine.

Milia Removal

Milia Removal

Overview:

Milia are very small white bumps which grow on the surface of the skin commonly around the eyes, nose, cheeks and chest. Traditionally associated with babies (often known as ‘milk spots’), milia on adults are actually tiny cysts that are located immediately below the skin’s epidermis layer. While completely harmless, they can often cause aesthetic concern due to the clearly visible white colouration. Using a simple medical procedure, miliacan be quickly and removed leaving little trace on the skin.

How it works:

Milia are typically removed using a sterile needle procedure. A needle is used to create a tiny incision on the layer of skin covering the cyst, which is then carefully extracted to drain the contents. In some cases, certain types of milia will require a method of cauterization to remove them. A topical anesthetic may also be prescribed to treat certain type of milia to ease discomfort during the removal. .

Results & Recovery:

The results of the procedure will be immediately apparent, with zero scarring or long term effects. There is no downtime following the procedure and you may return to your normal routine immediately.

FAQ:

What causes milia?

While it is very common for small bumps to appear on your skin, milia can form due to a variety of reasons in relation to the health of your skin. Common causes of milia include:

Comedogenic skin products – Heavy creams, makeup and hair products that have a tendency to block pores (comedogenic) can cause milia to form from a buildup of dead epidermal skin cells. This can be particularly common around the eyes caused by makeup and makeup remover. To avoid this, it is always good to check products to ensure they are labelled as ‘non-comedogenic’.

Sun damage – Sun damage results in a thicker layer of epidermis, which impedes the ability of dead skin cellsto rise to the surface and shed normally . This may cause a buildup of cells and the formation of milia over time.

Skin diseases – Milia is associated with certain skin diseases such as the blistering disorder, Porphyria Cutanea Tarda.

Genetics –Milia is also typically inherited through genetics.

Is there only one type of milia?

There are several different types of milia. Your doctor at Eternel Clinic will identify which type you have in order to proceed with the best treatment.

Neonatal Milia – Harmless white bumps commonly found on newborn babies which usually disappear over time.

Primary Milia– The most common and easily treatable form that appears on both children and adults.

Secondary Milia – Appears on parts of the body that have been previously damaged or injured through burns, blisters and rashes. They tend to form after the skin has healed due to the buildup of dead skin cells caused by damaged sweat glands. This type can also be caused by comedogenic skin products.

Milia en plaque – A rare form that develops on a raised or inflamed patch of skin known as a plaque. The cause of this type of milia is not fully understood.

Multiple eruptive Milia – A rare, fast developing form which appears on the skin over a period of weeks or months. Caused genetically, this type typically appears on the face, upper arms and torso.
